The Biggest Diamond in the WorldThe world’ biggest-ever diamond has been discovered in South Africa on July 27th by a mining company. BBC reported that a shareholder in the unnamed mine said they have dug the stone in the north-west province on Monday afternoon.
The giant diamond was about 7,000 carats – twice the size of the Cullinan Diamond, centre-piece of the British crown jewels. In the photographs it seems to be about the size of a coconut and has a greenish tinge.
But still the industry experts are skeptical about the unconfirmed claim.
By the words of another shareholder at the mine, Brett Jolly, the gem had been taken to a bank vault in Johannesburg.
Experts say the find would be the stone of the century, if genuine.
